Week One
The first seven days of my 30-day art series are in the books! This week has been SO FUN and was all about learning to manage my time properly, the right scale for one-day projects, and how to make engaging social media content. I am really enjoying this series for many reasons; it gives me a purpose and something to strive for daily during this chapter of stillness in my post-grad life, I have used up a lot of supplies so far that I had been hoping to use for a few years, and I get to interact daily with the online world.
This week, I made the following:
Day 1: Abstract Painting (to dust off the gears)
Day 2: A Furniture Flip
Day 3: A pixelated Lava Lamp Painting
Day 4: Polymer Clay Earrings
Day 5: Necklaces
Day 6: Earrings for Pop-Up Shop
Day 7: Macrame Wall Hanging
I also participated in my first in-person pop-up shop which was just an incredible time! I got to meet so many people and talk to them about my art. I felt so alive and full of love - I can’t wait to do another one someday soon!
Having just gotten started, I have been blown away by the orders this week! here’s what has sold so far
39 pairs of earrings
5 necklaces
3 crocheted tote bags
3 rings
2 water bottle holders
2 key rings
2 pumpkins (yes, I STILL have crocheted pumpkins iykyk)
2 water bottle holders
1 painting
1 print
1 jewelry tray
I’ve learned a TON so far, like what is an appropriate scale for a project to complete in one day, that there’s no need to panic because it will get done, and even with a pre-existing plan, new ideas will come to you multiple times a day. I’ve also been reminded of how enjoyable experimentation is, and I can’t wait to keep expanding it!
cheers to week one 🎉
