Week Three

I cannot believe we are nearing the end of this 30-day journey!

This week, I took this show on the road and completed most projects at my sister’s place in Chicago. It was great to be somewhere else, set more boundaries for how long I could work, and include more people in this series.

I did something on my TikTok and Instagram accounts that I should have done years ago and made them into professional accounts. It was a big step, but I discovered the world of promotions and advertisements! I made a few of my posts Ads and gained about 100 followers each on both social media pages.

This is what I made this week:

  • June 21 - Flipped a piece of furniture and tried out stained glass paint

  • June 22 - upcycled friendship bracelet beads and put quotes on gold frames

  • June 23 - crocheted heart tote bag

  • June 24 - Fire Ink Art with my family

  • June 25 - Carved a crab stamp for a t-shirt

  • June 26 - 2 year anniversary & crocheted a tote bag

  • June 27 - Mixed Media animations

This week, we also celebrated two years of being a small business owner! I gave a 20% discount to my customers and had a few orders come in!

I sold:

  • 3 necklaces

  • 4 pairs of earrings

  • 3 crocheted tote bags

  • 1 water bottle holder

  • 1 crocheted pumpkin

Along with that, I had 3 custom orders placed this week

  • 1 pair of clay flower earrings

  • 1 beaded embroidery t-shirt

  • 100 greeting cards

It was a great week, and it was really special to see the numbers go up on my accounts, but I was also reminded this week that my worth as a person and artist doesn’t come from how many people like my videos or follow my accounts. All we can do is create and share our art with the world.

We are on to week 4 - the home stretch - of this 30-day series! I am torn between doing some really large projects to go out with a bang or slowing it down so I can focus more on my job search. Knowing myself, something tells me I will want to finish strong!

Cheers to the last 9 days!!
