WHAT’S IN THE NEGATIVE SPACE?

This grant-funded project is titled "What’s In The Negative Space?" this piece is a fusion of laser-cut acrylic and an unfinished wooden frame, with suspended shapes intersecting both within the frame and beyond its boundaries.

At its core, this artwork symbolizes the intricacies of a creative mind, where ideas and projects swirl endlessly. Leaving the frame open gives a gentle nudge to embrace unconventional thinking and unleash creativity without constraints. This piece is a beacon, inviting viewers to derive inspiration from the layered acrylic shapes while finding relief in the unoccupied spaces between them. Moreover, it reflects the complexity within our minds, with their layers, thoughts, and concepts.

Collaborating with the Memorial Union Focus Grant Committee and showcasing my work alongside numerous other applicants was an incredibly rewarding experience.
